5-Star Service

Have you noticed water pooling in your yard or around your home?

This tells you that you may have a broken or cracked underground pipe. Before the problem worsens, you can call the team at Big Blue Plumbing for innovative, modern plumbing solutions.

What Is Pipe Relining?

Pipe relining is a modern solution to a prevalent problem. Over time, old pipes running from your property can become damaged in many ways, with the most common issue being tree roots breaking through your pipes. In the past, this would have required complicated, messy repairs that leave your yard looking like a bomb site.

Pipe relining is called Cured In Place Pipelining, and it essentially creates a new pipe within your damaged one. The most common method is using a two-part epoxy pulled through your pipes, allowing them to expand and form a fibreglass shell inside your old pipe. Rather than being a quick fix, this shell is four times stronger than a normal PVC pipe.

Best of all, it’s non-invasive, so we don’t need to dig up your garden to fix broken pipes.

Signs Of Damaged Pipes

It’s often difficult to diagnose when you have issues with underground pipes around the home. This is because it’s not obvious to the naked eye. So, if you suspect you’ve problems with your pipes, you may need to look for some of these signs.

Most of these symptoms usually reflect a blockage in your pipes or some other type of damage that requires further investigation.

The Causes Of Pipe Damage

Because many of your pipes are underground, they can be subject to damage. When cracks or breakages occur, this increases the chance of flooding and blockages.

As such, getting the problem checked as soon as possible is vital. Some of the leading causes of pipe damage include:

In some instances, repairing the pipes will fix the problem. However, you may find that the broken pipe is caused by something else that must be fixed, such as high water pressure.

Yes, pipe relining is environmentally friendly for repairing or replacing your pipes. By relining your pipes, you can avoid digging up your yard or property, which can disturb delicate ecosystems. Pipe relining also doesn’t require harsh chemicals or solvents, making it a much healthier option for you and the environment.

Relined pipes are often stronger than un-lined ones so that they can resist damage from tree roots or ground movement. Relined pipes typically last 20–50 years, depending on the condition of the original pipe and the surrounding environment.
